Introducing Dr. Robert Haley of Lyndhurst

Introducing Dr. Robert Haley of Lyndhurst

"Lying on the living room floor every night with ice packs was not a fun way to enjoy your senior year of  high school. Neither was wearing a back corset to get through a competitive wrestling season," recalls Dr. Robert Haley dealing with his early problems of suffering with constant back pain and spasms... "The frustrating part was that traditional healthcare offered no solution."

It was not until Dr. Haley discovered chiropractic care that his problem was identified and corrected.  Dr. Haley continued to learn about how the human body functions in college. After a brief career as a Physical Education and Health teacher,  Dr. Haley decided to pursue a career in chiropractic.

Dr. Haley attended Montclair State College in New Jersey, were he earned a B.S. degree in Physical Education in 1984 and a Master's degree in Exercise Science in 1990. Following these experiences, Dr. Haley headed to beautiful Southeastern USA and enrolled at Life College in Marietta, Georgia where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1993. Dr. Haley also became a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician in 1996 and has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 1988.

"I see Chiropractors as the true wellness and lifestyle providers of the future," explains Dr. Haley. "It is a perfect time as people are turning toward a more natural approach to their family healthcare needs for Chiropractic to expand and become an integral part of every-one's lives"… “It is nice to know that there is an alternative to drugs and surgery and we try to educate each patient on what choices regarding their health best suits their lifestyle so they feel comfortable."

Dr. Haley is an avid sports fan and athlete. In his spare time he enjoys working out, reading and attending sporting events. Being a former collegiate wrestler and weightlifter, Dr. Haley recently got the sporting bug and has started to complete in powerlifting a few times a year.

Dr. Haley is also very involved in his community.  He has been the attending physician for the Lyndhurst Golden High School athletic team since 1999 as well as treating many other athletes from around the area.  Throughout his 12 years as a Chiropractor in Lyndhurst he has sponsored his own recreational basketball and soccer teams.  Dr. Haley also provides information on health and chiropractic through the means of health fairs and health talks as well as providing nerve function scanning, using the Insight Millennium Subluxation Station, and postural screenings to many sports teams, groups and corporations in the community.

Practicing what he preaches, Dr. Haley receives regular chiropractic adjustments as part of his healthy lifestyle. In addition to chiropractic care, this lifestyle includes regular soft tissue work, exercise, diet and supplements. Dr. Haley states that, "reduction of physical, emotional and chemical stress is the foundation of wellness and chiropractic care is a part of this approach".  Dr. Haley can not remember the last time he received an adjustment for pain relief only.  "I personally see that difference in regular care and want my patients to experience it as well."

Dr. Robert Asks some important questions of interest to Lyndhurst residents - Chiropractor Lyndhurst Dr. Robert Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
