Sports Care

Improve your game!

With the increased popularity in exercise and athletic performance, more and more people are seeking the help of a sports oriented chiropractor. From youth leagues to the major leagues an athletes spine is under heavy stress during athletic competition. These stresses can cause spinal imbalances and lead to muscle and nerve dysfunction. The funny thing is that these imbalances do not always present themselves as painful, however they can cause future problems and hinder performance.

Knowing the growing concern of sports related injuries to the public, Dr. Haley has gained valuable expertise in this field.  Dr. Haley is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and a team physician for Lyndhurst High School.  Dr. Haley has been an official chiropractor at many elite level sporting events including the 2003 World Freestyle Wrestling Championships in Madison Square Garden, The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) Belmar Open, and the Professional Bowlers Association's US Open.

In addition to these events, Dr. Haley served as President of the ANJC Sports Council (formerly NJCS) and provided chiropractic care to major league baseball athletes while traveling to the New York area.

In 2002, Dr. Haley was selected and served at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado as part of their Sports Medicine Volunteer Program.  This assignment allowed Dr. Haley to achieve membership in the US Olympic Committee's Sports Medicine Society.

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
